Prepped and ready to rock!
I've owned the celica for about 2 1/2 years now and she's not seen a lot of action in that time
At my home club, nacotwoodslotcarclub.co.uk the narrow front track of this car does not work well with section known as the " Esses"
The Esses has some brutal left right transitions that badly upset the car and nothing I could do (legally) could tame that.
The cars at the front of the grid are M1s, Capris and recently the Skyline.
So, a different approach.
The car is now prepped to run at Londonslotcarclub.com under the recently revamped group five rule set.
The track at LSC does have "esses" but nowhere near as vicious as those at nascot.
Some cars that have performed well at LSC include the lancia which also has a narrow front end.
The retrofit:
- ortmann urethane tyres (mandatory)
- hollow rear axle
- removal of wheel trims
- lightweight interior
- carbon front axle
- factory fitted flatsix motor flipped over, open site up (for rules compliance)
- 1mm clearance below the motor.(rules compliance)
- black arrow rear wheels for weight saving.
And finally my signature tribal stripes on the rear wing.
She's ready for battle
Under 70 grams and running 7.7 metres per second on the rolling Road.
She's no mosler but against others in the class I'm hopeful.
Watch this space...
