can't decide

Good choice
Crucially you get all those track borders, which would be expensive to add to a Digital 132 set.
To run Digital 132 cars, you will need another power supply - the D124 cars run at 18.5v and the D132 at 13-15v. There is a separate power supply for each. Most Carrera enthusiasts upgrade to an aftermarket adjustable DC power supply. The Carrera Digital Control Unit will handle a maximum of 24 volts and 8 amps (10A peak), so a 0-30v 5A unit is ideal - or a 0-30v 10A with an 8A quick-blow fuse.
Other additions are pretty straightforward - a pit lane if you will be using the fuel feature; AppConnect if you'll be using the SmartRace race management app (or the Carrera app); or a CU to PC lead if you'll be using PC race management software; plus more wireless (or wired) controllers to run more cars.
The Carrera set I have is the D132 DTM Final Winners with AppConnect included...
Plus I’ve added two extra throttles and the pit lane.
Happy to compare notes

Just keep in mind that it is not a big task to make it a hybrid track where you can switch it over to analog and race a variety of cars. You will not be stuck with just the one make or those that are chipped for digital.

Ok, it arrived yesterday, set it up temporarily on the living room floor.
It's actually better than expected. Really like the 1/24 cars.
Now the table planning begins.

I guess the next ? is where to buy digital American cars other than Mustang or Corvette race cars?

What American cars are top of your list? These are two of my favourites, both 1:32 scale Carrera...
In terms of Carrera cars, look in the SlotRacer Library at the last nine catalogues: https://slotracer.online/library/carrera/index.html - there's plenty in 1:24 and 1:32 (remember, you'll need the Digital132 power supply to run 1:32 cars), most available in digital and those that are 1:32 scale analogue 'Evolution' models can be converted using the appropriate Carrera D132 chip.
Almost any other brand of slot car can be converted to Carrera digital. There's a 'Carson chip' installed on a DPR hatch to convert Scalextric and Pioneer Digital Plug Ready (DPR) cars to work on Carrera Digital. Most Slot.it and Revoslot chassis are designed to take a Carrera D132 chip (requires soldering) - as are the 1:24 scale BRM and TTS cars. Converting other cars with a Carrera D132 chip can be tricky (the chips are big), but there's also the miniature Slot.it 'Type C' universal chip that can be programmed (via an app) to work with oXigen, Carrera or Scalextric digital systems. All of these non-Carrera cars - including the 1:24 scale BRM and TTS models - will need the Carrera Digital 132 power supply.

Ok, thank you.
Going to stick with the 1/24 for now.

There certainly isn't much to offer from Carrera 1/24.

What’s your wish list Greg? I’m sure we can help you find it.

Hi Greg,
Because you went with 1/24. The world is your oyster when it comes to car choices if you ever decide to get into kit bashing or scratch building.
We have a local hobby shop that has the best of everything and lots of it. They must have at least 300 1/24 or 1/25 static kits of American cars of every make and year. They have 3 or 4 kits in 1/32. That's typical of 1/32 static kits. 1/32 scratch builders can't find static kits of old and odd American muscle to turn into slot cars.
One trick is to adapt a static body to the cheapest digital Carrera chassis/car you can buy. Trying to find a Carrera 1/24 1966 Barracuda slot car would otherwise be imposssible. But if you learn to build... Anything is possible in the future.
Best of luck with your track and cars!
