HO 427 Roadster with optional roofs
#1

This 427 Roadster is modeled from scans of an actual car and blueprint drawings. It's one of the only proportionately accurate cars of this type in this scale range. Slightly larger than 1/64, it's scale is based on rear tire diameter and rear wheel track, which puts the wheelbase at 1.7". She fits an AFX Mega G/G+ chassis and features swappable tops to go from convertible, to rag top, to hard top, depending on weather conditions at your particular track! ;)  The clear resin winshields start out frosty, but can be easily wet sanded and clear coated to make them nearly optically clear. (The figures are true 1/64 scale figures that I can custom pose and print. I'll post on that separately)

Such nice work. Love it.

How about a set of British two seater sport cars? I think they would scale to roughly the 1.5 chassis although with your unibody design, that's not even necessary.

Things like the Morgan Plus4, Panther Lima, MGB and things.

Thanks Gareth! Yes, I love those cars! I also want to make some more obscure ones like the French Amilcar. Right now I'm back logged on the next round of 1960's era F1's, as well as a certain 6-wheeler.

Whether I go with the unibody, a divorced front axle with a conventional chassis, or use my own adjustable chassis will be determined by how much clearance a body design requires. I have a Lotus 7 almost done, and due to the body work, it will be a unibody.

I have to get the 1960s/70s era pit crew figures finished up along with the spectators as well. (See my other post under the scenery section).  So much fun... so little time!
