The fifth running of our WHO Goodwood Revival took place on Saturday. Eighteen racers took part in what is a full-on tribute to the active years of the Goodwood motor circuit between 1948 & 1966, plus the Revival festival that has been held since 1998...

St Mary’s Trophy Parts 1 & 2: Two-part pairs race - featuring RTR, kits & scratch-built hard top saloon cars of 1948-1966
Kinrara Trophy: 45-minute team race - featuring RTR, kits & 3D chassied models of 1959-64 closed-cockpit GT cars
Richmond Trophy: Individual race - featuring RTR models & kits of front-engined 2.5-litre Grand Prix cars 1948-1960

As usual, most of us dressed up and we raced on Mike's Revival track - carefully designed to get the most out of the range of cars we race, with big sweeping bends and plenty of overtaking opportunities...

Mike had updated the single-lane chicane this year, giving us functional and aesthetic improvements...

And Steve had produced a couple of fabulous backdrops for photographs...

... which were set off nicely by the 2026 Revival loot picked up by Pete a couple of weeks ago!

And so to the races...

RAC TT Celebration

[attachment=48686]

Everyone got a seat in the RAC TT Celebration pairs race this year - the nine cars including five Fly Ferrari GTOs, two Scalextric Shelby Cobras, plus a Corvette Gran Sport and a Cobra Daytona, both by Revell/Monogram.

The first of two eight-minute qualifying heats delivered the first (and what proved to be the only) technical glitch of the day. We took time to problem-solve properly and got going again. Heat two brought together the two fastest cars, with the Ferrari of Mike D & Steve just pipping the 'Vette of Ash & Alex to pole on a fastest lap. Pete & Terry's Cobra Daytona was the third car automatically through to the feature race.

The six cars in the semi-final battled hard for three step-ups. Dean & Mike A controlled the race in the purple Dragon Snake Cobra, with Rob & John's green Ferrari having a great run to finish second. Matthew & Oliver's Cobra looked favourites for the third spot, but Andy & Chas in the red Ferrari GTO crossed the line just ahead to grab an unlikely feature race spot.

The feature race was super-close as these front-engined cars had loosened up and their drivers were fully-committed. The battle for the win was between the top two qualifiers - Mike D & Steve's Ferrari and Alex & Ash's Corvette - but the little purple Cobra was never far behind. A long pit stop dropped the red Ferrari to the back, with the Cobra Daytona and Rob's green GTO fighting for fourth. In the end, Mike snatched the win to give his Ferrari a second RAC TT Celebration victory...

Congrats to our first podium of the day...
