Hard Body - Great North Slot Race

Just over a month to go before the first Great North Slot Race of the year at South Manchester SCC on Saturday 18th April 2026.

Three classes starting with a F1 Sprint race of 1 minute heats.

Followed by Saloon of 2 minute heats

Then finally Sports / GT with 3 minute heats.

It would help with the organisation if you intend to participate or are interested to let me know.

Great North Slot Race - South Manchester SCC - This Saturday 18th April 2026 - Makem - 14th-Apr-26

The first Great North Slot Race of the Season is this Saturday, 18th April at the South Manchester SCC.
Doors open for practice at 8am.
Racing will start at 11am (possibly a little earlier if everyone there and happy to go ahead).
No qualifying, win from any heat. Drivers will be allocated heats by the organisers based on mixing Clubs and known abilities.
Starting with the F1 Sprint Race ( a new class addition for this Season), 1 minute heats hence the 'sprint'. That will be on the 6 lane Houldsworth Park circuit.
The gap between lane changes will be kept to a minimum but should be 70 seconds appx.
Next class will be Saloon and will be on the 3 Rivers 5 lane track.
Two minute heats and again win from any heat.
We will have a short lunch break, the length of that will be determined by how the timescale is going.
Final class of the day will be Sports/GT run back on the Houldsworth Park track. 3 minute heats.
Rules have been well circulated please don't try to pull any 'fast ones' as I have been known to be proper grumpy.
These races are on a light hearted very friendly basis so we can meet old friends and make new ones while having some competitive racing
