Global Touring Cars Slot Car Challenge Proxy - Intro & Rules - Graham - 20th-Sep-25

 Good afternoon,
so here we are with the 15th proxy since 2021 that I have organised.

Provisional Proxy Start
End April/May 2026

As this is a "Challenge" proxy I wanted to do something different from the last Touring Car proxy.
so the 3 events can be viewed as:

Event 1 Small Touring car Saloons, mostly of the earlier period.
Intentionally intended for the smaller Mini like or equivalent size cars, I based the Max wheel width of 52mm based on my standard size Slot it Datsun 510. Inludes Revoslots (see awards section) or scratch-build metal chassis.

Event 2 Inspired by a Slot club series on BTCC "Super Touring cars of the 90's" I have expanded this to include more recent Scalextric Touring cars as well a few alternative home brands of a similar in line motor configuration and similar body weight and width. No lightweight bodies permitted, and all must use a S-Can motor. As many of the models are not normally slot car Favourites this should be an interesting Challenge. Includes some narrower Bathhurst 1000 models.

Event 3 Can be seen as a "American Muscle versus European wide saloon cars", which were mostly over 3 litres. 
Also some of the similar Bathurst 1000 bigger cars as well for good measure. Any motor orientation allowed and a some long can motors included the motor list.

General 
Motor list -  Motors are resticted to those with a low "magnetic traction" as we will be using a few plastic with metal contact rail tracks. The Max 21 rpm has been restricted to limit the motor power of these saloon cars across all 3 Events.
Metal chassis Revoslots & scratch build metal chassis permitted only in Event 1.
Lexan lightweigh plastic interiors are permitted across all 3 Events.
Only Rubber tyres permitted.

Awards 
These will be finalised once we know what the entry list is looking like, but obviously the leading cars with the most points at the end of the series of each Event will be the winners. Possibly there might be secondary winners of a Revoslot and Mini Class in Event 1 if there is clearly a good representation of such cars entered, otherwise it will be winners and runners up competition.

There is no guarantee of sponsorship awards at this stage.

Entry cost
Initial car entry £20, additional cars £5 each (max 3 cars) You are permitted to enter 2 cars of different construction in Event 1 (ie Revoslot and another ) others may be considered like a Mini type + ....
Overseas entries  - car postage cost above the regular UK national level will be charged when the cars are prepared for return.

Car liability
Every effort is made to transport these cars in a responsible safe manner inside the packaging for transportation to and from the hosts around the country. And additionally there is a responsibility of care by the hosts to run & race these cars in a manner which minimalises damage caused by collisions with other cars or other parts off the track.
However any damage caused must be reported should it occur so as to infom the entrant of issues. However hosts and the Administrator (me) cannot be held directly responsible if such damage occurs. Entrants enter their cars at their own risk.
