SCX SEAT Cordoba WRC -
StuBeeDoo - 18th-Nov-24
Does anyone have an SCX 60230 Cordoba? It's the no.9 1999 Rallye Monte Carlo one. I have a question to ask about
this specific model.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I've got that one Stu. What do you need to know?

I would like to know where the attachment points are for the spot lamps. Would you be able to take the body off the chassis and get a decent-ish image of the underside, pretty pretty please??
Thanks.

It probably isn't much help. The mounts are hidden between the underside of the bonnet and the topside of the interior.

Thank you so much for that, Mr.M.

I appreciate your time & trouble.
It does help a little.

They are attached with heat-staked "pins".
I was able to cut the tops off by inserting a scalpel blade in via the grille aperture and in between the underside of the bonnet and the black plastic shown in the picture above. I applied glue to the pins after I had painted the body.
I just found out that this version is "rare" and expensive...

Any chance of a pic, or link to a pic, of the one you've painted please Leo?? I've recently developed a fascination for the Cordoba WRC history.
I already have one repaint in progress, and am planning at least one more.
You're right, there aren't a lot of the early version about. As far as I can tell, Tecnitoys only did two liveries on the E1 version of the Cordoba - one with additional lights, and one without. I haven't counted them, but they must have done at least 6 variations on the E2, plus Altaya did at least 2.
All the variations I've seen come with the early wing. I have a plan to modify an E2 model to look more like the later wing.
I think I'm right in saying that Ninco's Cordobas are all the E1 version - even with the later livery.

There's a 'mint-in-box' one on ebay UK at the mo for 55 quid BIN.
Now and again I use the one I have for Slot Rally, it's a lovely car to drive and probably the best 'basic' SCX Rally car I have...but it's slooooooowwww
...a Pro Double Rally motor from a Xsara Pro would perk it up a bit

I know.

I've been watching it for a while. Seller is open to offers too. I might end-up making a cheeky offer on it - possibly as soon as later today.

As far as I know there is also a No. 8 Cordoba Ref.6045, Rally Costa Brava 2000, driven and crashed by Toni Gardemeister.
