A Vintage Porsche 911 - KensRedZed - 30th-Jul-24

I was at a local hobby shop recently, and this was car was in the parking lot blinding me with it's beauty. It made my day. I had to stop and take a pic.

I remember seeing a similar car somewhere.

I had a similar tingle when I spotted this in a local town...

Back in the early 2000s - I owned this car.

Unobtrusive, family type sedan - but it went like the proverbial off a shovel!! _ Loved it. Had to sell it when we moved from AFrica to Europe

Now I just look at them in pictures Bigsmile Bigsmile

An amazing car, love the 90's Audi 80 and this just pushes up a notch or six.

When collaboration cars were proper collaborations.

What would the cost be to ship to Europe?

If I had to move from Canada to Europe. I would be taking my Camaro with me.  Bigsmile

Speaking of Audi's. It seems there are lots of Audi fans in Canada. My friend just pickup this kit as his next slot car. He drove one back in his younger days. The kit is quite rare here.

Hobby stores that carry pre-owned kits have become my favorite hunting grounds these days. The kits aren't cheap. But, they are a bit more rare.

I thought this thread would be a fitting place to show another vintage Porsche 911 (1/25 kit this time).

Nice Ken - I dont know of any hobby stores in Europe that carry old models (possibly some on ebay) - and I rely on swop meets as usually here there are a LOT of older models for sale but generally from 80-90's era.

Thanks Anthony.

The grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. I see all the flea markets going on in Europe, and I drool over them. We have flea markets in Canada too. But they are very small in comparison. I would love to tour Europe for all the slot car meets, etc. But there's no way to afford such a thing.

However. I know of four hobby shops that carry pre-owned kits in, or near the Toronto area. Some are better than others.

I bought the vintage Porsche kit from a store where you would typically walk in, open your wallet, and say "please help yourself". It was not cheap.  Some of the other stores sell newer kits for a low price. Each store has their strengths.
