GB track 1/32 slot car spare wheels/tyres - DaGoFast - 13th-May-24

Hello guys!


Newbee here.   I have several GB track 1/32 slot cars.   I'm looking for spare wheels and tyers.  some rear wheels have cracks.   the car has a plastic shaft (just 5mm long), and a plastic wheel just go onto it.   could you recommend suitable products to buy online?   the local hobby shop doesn't carry any spare parts for slot cars to be disappointed.  Thanks!

Do you just want to replace a broken wheel? or do you want to make it better and replace the axle and wheels?

pretty sure GB track cars are the same as FLY cars 
look for upgrade / tuning videos or tuning info on the forums for FLY cars 
there is loads of info out there concerning replacement wheels / tyres / axles etc

Kev is correct, GB Track and Fly were basically the same company.
In any event, finding replacements is a bit of a challenge although they are still around depending on the car.

It sounds like you are dealing with front wheels, although the rear hubs also crack.   If they aren't completely broken you can glue a ring made from styrene tube around the hub to support and reinforce it.

If you have a 3D printer you can print front wheels.

Tires are available from several current manufacturers.  Fly and GB Track cars are notorious for tires cracking.

Does sound like fronts, independent fronts so sounds like front motor mount too which means you can't replace them with one solid axle across the chassis.

Hi Kevan,....FYI, most if not all GB Track cars utilized a sidewinder chassis, so , motor position was not an issue in replacing the front stub axles with a solid one,....that said the front body post location on the Chevrons'. did prevent a solid front axle,...........many would reposition the front body post.

DaGoFast,.......as mentioned by others there are many ways to fix your issues,.......your skill levels/desire/pocket book, will determine the best routes.

Additionally, it would be very good to know what you want the cars to do,........do you just play at home, do you want to compete, what type of track (wood/plastic) do you run on, do you run the cars with/without traction magnets ??

If you can post a couple of pics.. it would be extremely helpful in steering you in the right direction.

Chris, the fact he said 'a plastic shaft (just 5mm long), and a plastic wheel just go onto it'  leads me to believe independent floppy front axles but as you say the Chevron is SW and has twin front axles so could be swapped for one single axle right across.

...in which case 3/32" piano wire will do the job just fine

If in fact his car is a Chevron, (a sidewinder like all GB's, and all with sub axles )  the front body post will have to be repositioned in order to use a solid front axle, as the body post, in stock form, is in line with the stub axles, as outlined in my previous post   Sun
