3D printer glue (FDM) -

Having recently bought a roll of tough PLA+ thanks to a text chat with John May, it's great filament for our needs but won't adhere to smooth or textured print beds...but no problems with basic 3D 'glue'.
Cheap as chips PVP glue sticks are best, much easier to use than the PVA liquid I've been using and washes off much easier too.
So what does PVP glue stick do?
Good question, it helps print filament stick to the print surface and also helps it not to stick to the print surface...it does both jobs at the same time.
How can it help stick and not stick prints...well it seems to be a medium that sits between the print and print surface whilst being strong enough to hold but not strong enough to damage your printer plate.
Get the cheapest stuff you can buy, PVP is much better than PVA sticks.

Not sure if this is available in other locations, but I have found PIT blue glue sticks best, at least on my printer.
Goes on as a blue colour but turns to white when dried up after a print.
Never had a print lift with this, and when finished it will practically peel off cleanly. What is left a quick spray of water and wipe with the cloth and the print plate is just like new.

Hair spray wipes off with alcohol.
Easy peasy....

It's good to have an alternative but I won't be running out of PVP for a few years as I bought a pack of 12 and running the plate under the hot tap for 10 seconds or so is no bother.
