I have also had a positive response from two additional clubs, East Lancashire Slot Car Club and Wirral Slot Car Club as hosts for this next proxy, so it should make the series even more exciting.

Can I ask for volts to be run either the same or less than qualifying moving forward? I assume your proxy is looking to maximize each car, deslots and offs hurt those chance, I believe.

There is a requirement in the current "Hosting Format" document for the hosts to use 12volts where possible, but one or two of the existing clubs have issues with fixed track power supply, so cannot change their normal running of 13-14 volts. But I will check with the new venues to see what they use.

That’s fine and I understand most have fixed voltage, but there was a race, I don’t recall which it was, but the track was qualified at 10 volts and then moved to 12. For those that have variable voltage.

hi brumos . the change in voltage was a one off ( forgive the pun )
i always use 10v on my track , it just seems to work better on less grippy SS plastic , which imo results in less offs , and gives a truer reflection of each cars capabilities especially on a home track , this was how i ran qualifying
when Mark ( the driver ) arrived , he wanted to run at 12v , and after a long discussion and quick perusal of the host notes supplied by Graham , it was decided 12v was to be used
this is most definitely the main reason qualifying didn't fully reflect the race ( different drivers and different voltage )
rest assured different voltages will not happen again , an oversight on my part , as you say the volts will remain the same for both parts of the event ( not sure about lower for the race though )
although different drivers for qualifying and racing will be used , which is often seen in other proxies
i thought Mark did a great job driving on an unfamiliar track with very very few offs at the agreed 12v , props to him
also the different tracks , surfaces , drivers etc etc are the proxy challenge , although i realise it is easy for me to be relaxed , especially since i am nowhere near the pointy end where one poor result can make a huge difference
btw both your cars are a credit and i have no doubt will do well

Kev, you and Mark did a great job hosting and as always it’s soo cool to see our toys going around a track. And as you have already stated the lower voltage cuts offs and allows cars to shine. UK is different for US builders and I’m adjusting by sending lower powered cars so the drive is easier, now that I have enough data to refer back to with my builds for the UK.
