Toy Fair - Musselburgh, East Lothian 3rd February - Scuderia_Turini - 28th-Jan-24

Community Service Announcement:

On Saturday coming (3rd February) there is a Toy Fair in Musselburgh at which Roger Barker will have a stall.  If you are not already familiar with that name you can find him on Facebook as "Roger Barker Slots".
The venue is just east of Edinburgh and a rare opportunity to find a slot-car dealer north of Hadrian's Wall.
There may be other slot-car stalls present but I am not aware of any.

For transparency - I have no connection to "Northern Toy Fairs" nor Roger Barker other than as a paying customer.

Huge crowd at Roger's stall this morning and lots of money changing hands - hopefully enough to persuade Roger and Juss to appear at same venue on 6th July.

My haul consisted of:
Mk1 Escort RS1600
Mk5 Escort Cosworth McRae Collection/Ford Motorsport
Mk5 Escort Cosworth Cepsa
Triumph TR7 V8
START Rally Car with 555 stickers - Looks done well enough to be original but prob not
Mini 1275 GT
Lancia Delta HF Turbo
Strombecker Chaparral 2H

Other stalls had a few slot-cars and featuring Railway, Sci-Fi, Model Kits and general Toys.

Have been too busy playing with them...

I live a short distance away from the venue but have never been in before. Its a bit of a Tardis in as much as it seemed small for a Toy Fair but the hall was a standard sort of size for a "gym hall" quite a large water pool as well. All in a nice brick built building. 

Will take some snaps today.

I already have the plain yellow version of this:

Had to remove several decals to get down to the basic BL livery:

Previous owner may have applied the 555 stickers but I like it:

I have a soft spot for the early Twin Cam and FVA cars that have rectangular headlights:

Escort Cosworth, a friend bought an unopened blister pack one of these, mine was loose:

Delta HF Turbo - 2WD car that laid the way for the World conquering AWD versions:

Chaparral - needed new rear tyres and braids. Wing mechanism kind of works but may need attention:

Hello Anthony,
Yes, Roger Barker is covering a lot of ground...   
Musselburgh is about 5 miles from my house so the shipping costs are very low :-)   

Hoping that this event continues next year and that Roger still sees it as viable.
