i have Parma controllers on my home track
and a DS controller for club track
but since Pendle club closure , i have no use for the DS controller unless i travel , which due to work commitments is not really possible
my problem is .... the club track was -( negative) polarity , and my home track is +(positive)
a problem i didnt realise i had , until i tried the DS on my home track
my question ..... is there a way i can easily rewire my track / Parma controllers / DS controller so that they would all work on my home track , and the direction of track travel would remain the same ( this point is most important ) ?
i tried swapping wires etc , but quickly became confused , so returned everything to original and just continued with the Parma's , but the option to use the DS would be great if possible
i am reluctant to mess with the DS , but the Parma's and track wiring are more to my 'tin pot' electrical standard
any help is appreciated
Kev

Parma controllers will work either way your track is wired as it's only a resistor so sounds like your track needs the wires swapping round to suit.

You might need to rip out all the wires and start from scratch, but it’s worth it.

perfect Andy thankyou

Positive wired track is the gold standard.....I would stay with that and look at changing the DS controller innards.

Wouldn't the Pendle track be wired to BSCRA standards?

which ever way round my home track is wired , its opposite to the way Pendle club track was wired , hence the reason why my DS controller wont work on my home track , but would on the Pendle club track
i will rewire my home track to the way highlighted by Andy and will report back
might be a week or 2 though
changing the innards of the DS would be the last resort , it would most likely end up in the parts bin , in seperate parts , knowing me and my electrical expertise

upon inspection ,
following Andy's track wiring post ,
i found that the wiring from the power supply to the 3 pin plug sockets was correct
but the wiring from the plug socket to the track rails was the wrong way around

at the rails
a few moments wiggling the low voltage light bulb around in my head
and i had a brain fart
i just turned each powered track section through 180 degrees

and the track is now powered correctly and direction of travel is correct
so its happy days , and all is good now , i must have switched the powered track sections when i rebuilt the garage without realising
btw , the club controller wasn't a DS as originally stated , it is a Truspeed , Rum and Coke must have been involved during the original post , sorry guys
and huge thanks Andy

More Rum than Coke
