Books - 1:1 books on racing - Anthony B - 23rd-Jun-23

At Slotmania Brussels last week, I picked up a wonderful book. I have been an admirer of this book for a long time and have never got around to getting it as the ones I have seen have always had a big price and a huge transport cost on top.

It made me wonder - what books are in your library that you really like? (exclude slot car books as that is another subject :) )

It has the most wonderful set of 'home' cars being raced, which we have lost in our new age.

And yes that is Jim Clark racing a Cortina in the States!!

Good stuff. I'm guessing Sebring for the Jim Clark photo?

Did the 'home' cars race without any safety equipment, such as roll cages? Actually, scratch that, I can see a Healey there with number plates and nothing at all above its waistline, so obviously they did.

This is my favourite book about my favourite slot car. Covers every aspect from conception to delivery. Luckily I managed to pick it up for £30. Look how much they want on fkeabay for it now! Not sure I'd pay that much for it.

This is another, obviously Sir Stirling Moss was one of my favourite drivers. I met him many times and he was always a true gentleman. This book gives a revue of every car that he raced.

This is one of my faves. A great history of rallying up to 1997 (when the book was published) featuring fantastic imagery by Reinhard Klein.
