Important Announcement (Possibly) Proxy Rally 2023 -
joseph - 12th-Sep-22
Do you fancy seeing your cars running on our classic rally stages? You have seen images of our stages on our Facebook group pages. Imagine the challenge of preparing cars to run on these stages.
We are contemplating running a proxy rally next year to the basic tried and tested format but with several new ideas never, to our knowledge, included before. We will be using IT in ways that should increase entrant involvement irrespective of where they live in the world.
The event will be far longer than previous proxy rallies and we will be able to accept entries from anywhere in the world. An entry fee will be charged but only enough to cover costs, including return postage.
Announcements regarding awards and event sponsorship will be made in due course.
Entrants will have ongoing involvement with the set up and running of their cars so regular liaison with club members will be available. Our active club members will not enter their own cars so there will be no question of home advantage.
At present we are only contemplating running this event so are not after firm entries. We are just trying to ascertain if such an event would be of interest so are only after expressions of interest at present. If there is sufficient interest full details will be published at least two months before event commencement to allow plenty of time for car preparation and postage.

As long as it doesn't clash with 'Our Graham's' proxy rally, I'm in!

Kinda thinking the same thing here, it may be a great collaboration effort with Graham Rally. I only have so many 914s. (Smiley face laughing) as it doesn’t work for me the normal way for some reason.

I'm up for that so long as it doesn't clash with Graham's proxy.

Maybe, just maybe.
I only participated in proxies during the Pandemic but am now 100% back into club racing.
However, I built a TR7 rally car last year for Andy's proxy that was hobbled by my failure to fit the right tyres.
Car is still there and not being used because it fits into no classes at the clubs I attend.
So, depending on the construction rules and classes , I might be up for this.
