History of 60-70's Vintage motors -
Anthony B - 26th-Apr-22
To assemble a list of historical slot car motors has been an ambition of mine for a long time and now is the time to get this going.
The source of my material is a lot of old vintage slot magazines inter alia, Model Cars (UK), Model Cars and Track, Model Car Science, Car Model (USA)
Please feel free to add pictures and I will move them and add them to the area where thwy will fit best, to improve what I hope will be a comprehensive accumulation of pictures and articles.
This was the beginning of slot motor usage and experimentation - Very late 50's into early 60's

We then move onto the more modern 'Mabuchi' type motor from mid 60's onwards

Start of those motors considered 'hot' (caveat some are included above as well)

Hello Tony
I have been using this for a long time as a basic reference for many of the more common vintage motors. It sets things out pretty clearly and shows which motors are endbell driven are can driven which can be useful.

This is also helpful, particularly for anyone new to vintage motors

The links look the same but they do link to two different webpages. Lots of other interesting stuff on the site about scratchbuilts from the golden age of slotcar racing as well.
