The 3D makers here will have seen this, people who post 'stl?!?' as a reply to a 3D printed part, really gets on my ***
Is that a question or a remark, do you want to know if the stl file is available or just asking is that what you used? It comes across as 'give me the file!'
What happened to good manners, how about 'is that stl available to buy' or 'that's great, where did you get the stl?'
stl?!? ..no, try asking rather than demanding
...and relax

I suspect that half of the problem is that people getting trained by the need for brevity when texting. No excuse in my book though.

Could it be that they are questioning what an STL files is? Or possibly questioning the use of STL files? They are pretty grotty for anything other than 3D printing.

They know alright, they're freebie hunters who can't be arsed searching for themselves.

Hello Kevan,
It is the modern "curt" way. I believe it stems from web forums like this one and of course Social Media. I see this kind of communication in the workplace also where emails tend to start "Leo ..." rather than "Hello Leo" and my pet pet hate is when someone sends a message to two people and starts off "Both ..."
Yours sincerely, A Dinosaur.

Pistols at dawn sir, if you think this particular forum has encouraged any such behaviour.
Yours sincerely, a fellow dinosaur.
