External diameter of flanged ball races for Slot.it pod? - a_st74 - 16th-Feb-22

I'm looking to build a car & use flanged ball races in a Slot.it pod using 3/32 axles (see below). The Slot.it ones are of course out of stock & so want to buy an alternative online. Can anyone tell me what external diameter I should be looking at or make a recommendation? I'm happy to pay more for better quality. Thanks!

They are standard 3/32 ballraces which have an OD of 3/16" or approx 4.76mm.

Basic quality bearings, like the slot.it ones, are easily available i.e. SFR133ZZ Budget Metal Shielded Stainless Steel Flanged Deep Groove Ball Bearing Simply Bearings Ltd (note, I haven't used these or the supplier so it is not a recommendation)

If you want better quality bearings you are probably best looking at part suppliers for BSCRA or ISRA type slot cars.

Mr. Marcos Mantula is spot on.

There is quite the range of prices.

Here's one popular supplier in North America.

Here's another.

Not sure where you are located, but, in the UK, ABSlotsport has single flanged bearings in the size you need (3/16 od.). He only has 1 type listed, which while very good quality, may be a bit pricey. You could give him a call to find out if he has different quality options.......all will be better quality than the Slot-it ones.

PS a good quality and well aligned oilite bushing will perform better, and last longer than a cheap ballrace.
