Time to introduce the NMR 3.0 - Fred - 24th-Dec-21

The NoMagnetRing 3.0 is my third home track

History
The first version was a Ninco 2 lanes track. Sadly, due to a computer crash I don't have any more pictures of this 15 meters track Angry

Then, about 11 years ago, came a 3 lanes wood track, designed by Sillage Racing.
Here are a few pictures some of you may have seen on different forum :

RE: Time to introduce the NMR 3.0 - Fred - 24th-Dec-21

During summer 2020, my track had to move in an other room
So is born the NMR 3.0, a 2 lanes Policar track

I first tried a flat track which was easier to build :

But I quickly decided to add a bridge :

Once the design was OK, serious work began to secure the track and allow some areas for scenary :

The time passing very quickly despite this most uncertain period, I try to take advantage of a few days of vacation to advance the decoration of the track

First of all an attempt to dress the flank of the access ramp to the bridge with the walls made of cardboard.
For the moment they are just placed waiting for me to decide for their treatment (brick walls or concrete plates, I still hesitate)
We also see in situation the bridge dressing the time bridge :

Processing still raw on one side of the tunnel; at this stage everything is still removable :

The loop at the other end of the tunnel, which is currently under construction according to the techniques I had used on my previous track (fine cardboard mesh + sheathing of newspaper soaked with tapestry glue) :

Finally, although the artist has not yet validated it, I took the opportunity to set up the first of the panels that Gabrielle, my daughter, planned to make to dress her dad’s toy :

To be continued ...

Your daughters painting is cool.
How do you secure the track? Is it by building scenery etc flush to it?

RE: Time to introduce the NMR 3.0 - Fred - 27th-Dec-21

Thank you for her, Tibbs Beer

I'm not sure about what you mean by "securing the track"
I'll try to do the scenary as close as possible to the track, but probably not perfectly flush to it, if it does make sense ...

RE: Time to introduce the NMR 3.0 - Tibbs - 27th-Dec-21

Hi Fred,
you mentioned secure the track a post above, I've seen someone else post a pic that has the odd screw into the board flush up to the track.
I'm assuming thats how you stop the track moving and scenery placed up to the track?
Cheers
Tony

Hi Toni,

By securing the track in my third post, I meant put curbs around the tray to prevent cars from falling to the ground Thumbup
The track is just laid on the tray, except in the loop to help it to follow the landscaping

Thanks Fred, I appreciate it.
I've just found a post by Rallyhub which he has a fold up track, I've sent him a message as that's what I'm wanting to build.
Hopefully he can help.
Happy Christmas.
Tony
