If your slot car club is returning from a long period of hibernation, this offer from NSR might be of some interest. Although written in Italian, clubs in other countries should fill in the form if interested. Here's the translated message from NSR...
Quote:NSR SUPPORT THE SLOT CLUBS: “BACK TO RACE” FREE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused massive disasters for nearly two years now. Among these, the closure of the "Slot Club".
Unfortunately, this long period of inactivity has weighed on the expenses of the Clubs, putting many of them in serious difficulty. Now, however, the situation seems to be improving and, for some countries of the world, it is finally possible to reopen the clubs in compliance with anti-contagion regulations.
NSR wants to wholeheartedly contribute to helping clubs resume their activities on the track. NSR's support consists in the completely FREE supply of 10 cars in kit “Porsche 997 GT3” (code 1072AW) for each club, in order to be able to carry out a single-brand championship lasting 5 races.
Requesting the 10 models is very simple, just:
The club will receive the 10 requested models, around the end of July 2021. After receiving the cars, the club undertakes to:
- click on the following link: http://www.nsrslot.it/assets/events/2021/back_to_race/iscrizione.html
- fill in ALL the required fields and send the registration
Applications will be accepted starting from 01/06/2021 and until 30/06/2021.
- carry out a "Porsche 997 GT3 NSR" single-brand championship lasting 5 races by 31/03/2022
- send photos and rankings of each stage of the championship to racing@nsrslot.com, indicating in the email: Name of the club, number and date of the stage.
- use only NSR components on the models received

A good contingent from England and possibly all the clubs in Wales? Those 100 were very quick off the mark... Although it was probably the only way NSR could do it in the end, making it the first 100 to register was a problem for those who were still asleep when it was announced - I don't see many clubs from the Americas and none from the other side of the Pacific. Sadly WHO missed out too.
I hope all 100 clubs make the most of NSR's generosity and pay back with creating some excellent coverage and bringing new racers into the hobby through an enjoyable introduction to NSR...

- send photos and rankings of each breakthrough stage of the championship to racing@nsrslot.com, indicating in the email:
- subject of email: Porsche 997 Free championship results
- Club name :... (example: NSR slot Club)
- Number and date of stage :... (example: race number 3 of 01/12/2021)
- Attach results and photos of the stage
- Like NSR Facebook page - Instagram and subscribe to YouTube channel (minimum 3 club members)
Clubs are recommended to seriously abide by all the few rules set out.

It certainly was a very biased distribution, completely what my gut instinct says would happen, happened.
Oh well that's how the cookie is smashed, now to see how many actually stick to the agreement and post up some great results
