HEADLIGHTS -
LastHobbyPromise - 26th-May-21
Hi. Trying to gain some room under the body. There is only one connection for the taillights, there are two for the headlights. Do I need both? Can I clip one off? Does it matter which one if yes?
Thanks!

Hello LHP,
Rule #1. I know nothing.
Are there only 2-wires going from the chassis to the back of the body?
It looks as if the headlight plugs come out of the board, and go straight back into the board?
It also looks as if there are wires in the body that lead from the tail lights to the headlights?
Leave the headlights unplugged and put power to the car and test what happens?
Any questions? Please refer to rule number one.

Yes, you need both to power both headlights - one cable powers one headlight.
Having a quick look inside one of my Carrera D132 cars, it seems the Carrera lighting system runs enough volts off the digital chip to power one white LED or two red LEDs in series. The different colour LEDs have different voltage requirements. In theory, you could use this info to re-wire your car with finer gauge wire and wire the two headlights in parallel from a single terminal on the chip. However that would require some slightly more than basic electronics knowledge and skills.
