Slot.it - Carrera chip - LastHobbyPromise - 19th-Apr-21

Me again! I am in love w/the Slot.it "gulf" Lola Aston Martin DBR1-2

What are the possibilities that it could be chipped to run on a Carrera Digital track?

If yes, is there a specific chip that will work?

Thanks!

Steve

Steve - Slot.it have just released a Carrera-compatible digital chip, the SP43 here.

Some of the latest Slot.it cars are fitted with the corresponding connectors so the chip can be installed between the braids and motor without any soldering. I'm pretty sure none of the Astons have this. You can buy the leads separately (SP45 here) to attach to the guide (replacing the standard wire) and to solder to the motor.

These can be fitted to any brand of car and mean you can swap the digital chips easily between your cars. It's necessary to get them the correct way round, but I'm sure that is explained in the instructions to the chip and the pack of cables.

Of course, the Slot.it cars are designed to run at around 12 to 14 volts, so require the Digital132 power pack to be attached to the Carrera Control Unit. The D124 power pack at 18 volts will make the cars a real handful to drive - and the Slot.it SP43 chip is only advertised to work with the D132 system.

I hope that helps!
