Pendle discount for clubs - CMOTD - 14th-Apr-21

Not all clubs are aware that Pendle Slot Racing offer a discount to racing club members via a special individual code. It only applies to online orders and not 'special offer' items. If your club would like to sign up for the PSR Club Discount then ask your organiser to drop them a line for more details.

Now that Gary of MRE is retired and his web page shutdown, is " SlotRacer.OnLine " negotiating with other retailers to replicate the discount that was previously offered by MRE to registered Slotracer forum members?

I don't think we have a big enough membership at present to negotiate discounts with anybody Alan. The MRE discount was given to us through personal contact with Gary and the fact that he liked what we are trying to achieve on here.

Apart from Pendle's I don't know another slot car supplier that offers discount schemes to anybody. They are honouring MRE's discount on pre orders placed prior to the handover but it remains to be seen what happens with future orders.

Gary of (MRE) emailed people who have incomplete pre-orders registered telling them about the transfer process to Pendle. MRE's pricing is being honoured by Pendle. Future pricing will be at the normal Pendle rate.
I don't know how many people are affected in this way, perhaps a small percentage of MRE customers..

Discounts are a nice perk of joining a slot car club Thumbup

Pendles are very generous in offering a 10% discount code to clubs all around the UK (and to NSCC members too). Other retailers support their local clubs, either with a discount (typically 5-10%) or with prizes for championships, stickers, publicty for the club etc.

Manufacturers support clubs too, especially if they hold races or championships specifically for their products. In the twelve months before the Covid pandemic, there were prominent Thunderslot, NSR, Policar and SRC supported events in the UK, plus Slot.it supported the fabulous DiSCA oXigen Le Mans race.

At Worthing HO Racing, we've been able to offer the Pendle discount to our racers for the past six or seven years - and from the number of people who contact me for a reminder of the code, both our members and Pendles do okay from the arrangement! We also have links with Jadlams (we're not a local club, but they like what we do), local retailer Gaugemaster and HO retailer Slot Cars Direct UK. Both Scalextric and AFX Racemasters have generously supported and sponsored events and championships we've held over the years too.

Maybe SlotRacer isn't that big, but I think a lot of topics are viewed better, more often and enthusiastically than on SlotForum.
I want to thank the whole administrator team for doing so well for our hobby at this site.

Here in Australia we seem to be the most open and welcoming with forth coming and proffered discounts. The retailers that have offered discounts to myself and the guys in our informal club are:
