All the Scalextric talk on social media this week is about a future release... but it wouldn't be right to let this much-anticipated new-for-2020 GT car slip under the radar...

The new Vantage looks like it will be right up there with the very best of the Scalextric GT cars - and reports from those who have driven it seem to confirm that. The vital stats are:
- Wheelbase: 85mm
- Rear track: 62mm
- Height: 37mm
- Weight: 84g

The first livery is of the #188 Garage 59 car that ran in the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and achieved four Am Cup podiums in the five races - including a class win at Paul Ricard - to finish runners-up to fellow Brits Barwell Motorsport in the Am Cup Teams' Championship. The Scalextric car features the names of Chris Goodwin, Alexander West and Top Gear presenter Chris Harris - who shared the car at four races...

A second livery - the blue # TF Sport Vantage from the 2019 British GT Championship - is due a little later this year. Although there are some minor differences between the GT3 Vantage and the GTE version that runs in the World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series, the 1:1 cars are easily converted between GT3 and GTE spec. Whether Scalextric have permission from Aston Martin to produce the GTE liveries, we shall have to wait and see.
The Scalextric Garage 59 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 is available now, priced £40.99. It will also appear in the forthcoming Scalextric ARC Pro Platinum GT set.
