Saw this on Cults 3D, loved it, cost
less than a quid... why not!
I split the bodyshell in half just behind the doors where there's a natural join anyway then printed both ends face-up to get the best detail where it matters.
0.15mm layers, OVERTURE Super PLA+ printed on a Prusa mk3s+, total print time about 16 hours.
I could have printed in 0.04mm layers to get rid of the layer lines on the front and back but that would have increased print time to a couple of days.
A thin coat of UV resin will soon hide those layer lines anyway.
I used organic supports, which means a much cleaner print inside the bodyshell except the top part of the print which requires a pair of needle nose pliers to get rid of the 'roots' which aren't as easy to remove as normal supports.
The two halves are stuck together with superglue & bicarb powder along the join inside the shell.
It's 67mm across the outside edges of the rear wheel arches and weighs 27g
I could easily make a 3D chassis for it but like the idea of a brass & wire sidewinder one.

Looks great, Kevan.
I would consider sending you an aluminum chassis. But they are illegal outside of Canada.
I look forward to seeing it completed. Brass and wire is an excellent choice.

Times as they are, and having recently forked out for a few items, I have set myself the challenge of building a Group 5 car for one of the club classes out of items in my spares box.
So far, so good...

Here are a couple so I can get a 'rise' out of a slot car buddy who is a 'lefty'! I will delete this if against rules. I need to find an 'orange man' for the #1 car and a bearded man fir the other. The number one car will get a gold leaf crown once I get some of that. It'll be a hoot!

Here's a '55 Chevy for vintage racing. I have the decals somewhere on the bench! I have to fab a chassis and get drive train bits yet.

That post had me searching for '55 Chevy and Olds 88 Super comparisons. Inevitably this video appeared...
