Currently testing a bunch of low rpm motors from Ebay
So far this is the best of the bunch ,rated at 12k @12v seems to be an NC 1/NC8 equivalent

Acceleration seems a little better and so far its been reliable after 1000 laps testing .
On my track with its aprox 3mtr straight it pulls out a car length over my best NC1 from a standing start .
And at 1.81 whats to loose ?

They are like an NC2 but smoother and very driveable They run at about 18k on 12v I have one in a slot it Audi geared at 9/30 and its very quick ,there is a bit of magnetic down force too a very impressive cheap motor

I'm very impressed by the supplier I wrote giving specific requirements and they came back with a few options including one which I'm pretty sure is the slot devil 36k long can at less than a quarter of the price ,and that screams but is also drivable .

I'm always looking for odd and interesting kits to build for the future. Here are a few recent finds from the used market.

These kits just arrived through the postal service.

It's fun converting static models into slot cars. I know what I will be doing over the winter now.

Things are quiet benchwise this week as I'm in building mode again. Our lounge has a new ceiling and I'm up five metre towers painting the damned thing - the ceiling slopes up to a mezzanine section.

One thing I have done is build a new chassis for the 24th scale Tyrrell. It had a Dynamic chassis but it was one of the flexible things that never did work properly. Even with the suspension locked up, I just couldn't get it to handle. The Mabuchi 270S just overwhelmed it for a start even though it's the slower of the two I bought recently. So it's a proper brass chassis with crap solder joints!!

Must tidy them up.

Goes pretty well now and there is more traction which makes for an easier drive. Still not as fast as the Spazzaneve that Anthony is not going to get

I don't know much about chassis's, but I do know you climb up a scaffold tower inside the legs and through a hatch in the platform in order to eliminate the risk of it toppling over. Is that how it is set up?
