A Sideways not-a-Ferrari with LeMans 2020 decals from mtr32. Looking for tips to make the yellow light decals look more realistic.

That is very well spotted, Ken!
That was one of my very first kitbashes when I picked up this hobby again, so not an ongoing project. But I have kept the box! It is now the project-box for the Corvette. Sun
Btw,That Arii kit was a nice kit as I remember it.

Cheers

...I hope that ABS-like 3 is tougher than the ABS-like I used 2 years ago...prone to smash in a bad crash  Ambulance

Recently before a club race I was seeing some of the bodies that members had painted ready to start racing and one other member was trying out on the track.  I had run this on the track previously and had a fair few crashes.  A few body cracks and lost side mirror was the extent of the damage though.  But one guy at the club had a big off and the car hit the concrete ground with some force and the rear completely shattered.  So ya the ABS is still quite brittle.

Having said that, I have been testing some other resins and making mixes with some more flexible resins with the ABS.  As they are having a demand for this and offered to pay for bodies as the "durable" resins are more expensive, I wanted to test them for the durability.  So I got a body printed with standard ABS resin, and another with a mix resin and dropped a weight on both from a fixed hieght.  The ABS shattered while the mix resin actually bounced the weight back into the air.  Suffering just a small break on the rear wing.

So much more durable, but more $ and is tricky to work with.  Longer print times too as after calibrating for mix resin the layer exposure times were much longer.
I will keep playing and learning :)

I printed hundreds of bodyshells with a special triple blend of ABS, Siraya Tenacious and Siraya Blu...tough and flexible.  My blend took many weeks of testing, trial and error.
If I was printing them now I'd start with Siraya Blu Nylon.

Thank you, I will have to give the Blu Nylon a test.  I am using the Siraya Tech Tenacious Flex for the mix at the moment.  Just ordered another bottle of it as the results were good and the Amazon price just dropped from $60 a bottle to $40 which is a bit of a bargain here.

Just when we thought everyone in our group had a 1/25 Boulevard Cruiser (or two). Someone new shows up that wants to join us, and needs a car.

I was asked to make a chassis for a '67 GTO. The chassis is done. That changed into building a full car including paint. I'm always happy to help.  Thumbup

It's an amazing looking muscle car. My friend is leaning towards bright red for a colour.

I am painting twelve white 3D figures, bought at Slotmania Brussels. The other figures are from WASP.
