Here is a photograph of my portable work-bench. I decided a couple of years ago that a portable unit would useful when it was too cold to work in my shed. After some deliberation I reckoned I needed something like a baking board with storage built in so that when necessary I could quickly pick it up and stash it out of sight...
Ended up with this plastic storage box which I have fitted on the top a section of track and have put crystal box lids inside full of a collection of randomly acquired parts. Any filing or cutting can be done with the lid off so all the waste goes in the container - some day I will clean it out...

HO M1B master, Jabro Mk 2 in 1/32nd scale, master for Monster Racing and a couple of new 312 Ferrari versions for PreWing.  And a new routed wooden track which I'm currently wiring.

No Ferrari pics yet, abie, as it's a bit too soon and with Mel in Greece I see no reason to rush!

Jabro is a Mk 2 and is just me putting my tools where my mouth is. I saw it, liked it, said someone should do it, so I did it in less than a day and my son then cast it in resin, a new hobby of his.  Available from him at his strictly part time Monster Racing concern.  It is a 1959 H-Mod car, but I don't know who raced it.  It had a Crosley engine, although some had SAAB and even DKW 2 strokes.  By filling out the tucked in sides behind the front arches you can make it a Mk 1.  If it sells enough to cover my son, Bazz's costs (rubber and resin) I may make the Mk 3 or 4 to go with it.
Shown with the light alloy chassis and N20 sidewinder I have made for it.  Spur gear is cheapo ebay bundle purchase, wheels are RS Slotracing scale 13"s, with Airfix Mini replica tyres and RS wire inserts.  Shadowfax guide used back to front because, erm...I can.

It is only the beginnings of a paint job, but small steps 

Was running these on my portable table and they were a lot of fun, so decided to give them a bit of a makeover.  Still a long way to go, but am enjoying how these have started off.

I now have two workbenches.

I built a temporary bench for Don to use when we were preparing cars for the Champagne Mouton event and it seems to still be here! The original 'messy' bench is used for dirty jobs, soldering etc and the 'slightly less messy' bench is used for fiddly stuff and will, hopefully, be kept relatively clear but I'm not holding my breath.

My original intent was to keep the cars to a minimum and recycle parts as I needed them for cars built for Bordo. That seems to have gone a bit by the board as Bordo has been put off and the cars have been built for ages. This has meant any new cars had to have new parts! Cars prepared for Champagne Mouton are in the box with the Bordo cars.

However, I have decided that I don't need so many working cars and so have started stripping bits. The BRM will join the body pile and the bits will go into plastic boxes ready for the whole process to start again..
