RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - Savage GT - 24th-Oct-22

Wow, I was pleased as punch for the class A win, I logged in to check results for the D class quite nervously, hoping I might have just managed a podium.I nearly spilt my coffee seeing that result !
Early days, but it looks like all the classes could have some very close battles in this proxy and with the differing types of track surfaces and drivers it could really mix things up Sun

Once again thanks to Graham for all his hard work  Thumbup

RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - Savage GT - 24th-Oct-22

Thanks Brumos RSR for those kind words, had your car not had an off, I am sure it would have been you and CourtneyS battling for the #1 spot.

Luck was on my side this time, it won't last  Bigsmile

RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - Graham - 24th-Oct-22

Wavegreen Good Morning

well still lots to do to get those cars packed, but here my track with the additional lights, much better now, my wife was watching the meter to see if I was using too much energy  Rofl

Pitlane Review Daytona (Class C)
One problem is of course that as the cars get faster there is more potential for "driver error" rather than due to the characteristics of the car and and we start to see that here. So my apologize to the Teams effected, but of course it was night time driving.
I kind of though last night that the Lancia of ALS might just get the top spot, but that "1off " in a difficult place probably cost around 6 secs and at least one if not 2 podium places. So sorry for that. Bangers Racing's Lancia also did not fair much better, although the "offs" in this case I felt this was more due to the car stability than my late night driving. Ruscillo Racings BMW M1 was a surprise result for me, I had not seen this as a potential top 3 car during the practise run, so well done to Stevie.
Team Tatters BMW 320i was always going to be a contender.

so here is the Practise versus Race Fastest times comparison.

RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - Graham - 24th-Oct-22

And finally InterSeries (Class D)
Well yes my driving skills deteriorated even more so with these cars  Talking
Some of them too fast for it to be a fair comparison on my short and twisty track perhaps, but it was really great running them.
As a matter of interest I use my Scalextric Aston Martin Vantage fitted with Magnets to check the track is consistent, as I know I can run it with the controller full throttle all around and the car won't de-slot. So it is a good measure to check that there are no track issues before I start the timed runs for the proxy, and the lap time over 20 laps is 7.8 secs plus or minus 0.1 sec. So anything staying on the track below this is in the "Super fast" League status. And we had a couple last night  Sun

The Ferrari 512M of Savage GT is relatively slower to start with but after around 5 laps is flying, interestingly the lights also seem to take some time to become charged. The Porsche 917/10 of Courtney Sport is on the money right from the sprint line, consistent throughout and you just want to run it to it's limits, and sometimes over it's limits as I did on two occasions last night  Tappingfoot To me this was a PERFECT drive, sorry I lost you the top spot on the podium, as it really did deserve it.
The Mclaren of Brumos RSR did not feel quite so adventurous but nevertheless performed as I am sure the Team owner would have liked, and glad I was able to fix the back axle issue before we had started. The Ferrari of ALS was a dark horse, again I had not really seen this one potentially challenging for a podium during the practise run.
The little Alfa T33 of Mountain View was a delight to run, again I just over cooked this one, but a pleasure to drive.
At the bottom end the Lola T260 of Rokers Roar was great to watch running, did not require alot of careful control, but I am sure the Team will not be too surprised at the result relative to the nature of this very fast class of cars.

So I need to get packing, the overall results will be announced in due course.

RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - tatter06 - 24th-Oct-22

Thanks for the excellent coverage of the first round Graham. The track looks great with those lights.

Happy with 2 podiums, class c especially looked very tight  though so will be interesting to see how the cars perform on different tracks.

RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - Graham - 24th-Oct-22

REVISED INTERSERIES CLASS D RESULTS !

I had discussions today with Team Savage GT in regard to the Ferrari 512M and it has been agreed to remove the results posted for their run yesterday on the basis of unknowingly running a car with an "unfair performance advantage".

During the Test runs and during the timed run last night I became concerned that the car was running in an abnormal way on my Carrera track, the car would start off quite slow and continue to build speed over around 5 laps and then it was almost impossible to de slot.

As a result of this I decided to measure the Magnetic attraction to the metal rails of the Ferrari 512M using a SRC UMS motor gauge. Additionally I measured all the other class competitive cars, and  the Track test car (which is fitted with Magnets).
The results showed that the BRM motor had an "excessively high magnet traction" level which is not allowed under the rules.

So it has been agreed to strike out the results of the Ferrari 512M from last nights timings, to allow the car to be run on tracks which are not using magnetic metal rails but not allow any further running on home or club tracks where the magnetic traction could advantage the car.

So the Revised results and Podium of the Intersies Class D are below

RE: Autumn Endurance - InterSeries Proxy - Savage GT - 24th-Oct-22

Thank you Graham for correcting the result, after being told of issue I was gutted, but after it was pointed out there was no way I wanted the result to stand.
Apologies all for the error, as Graham said the car will only run the tracks with wood/copper tape or non magnetic braid, which will ensure the car is on an even playing field.

Congrats Courtney Sport, Brumos RSR and ALS Racing  Checkeredflag

Brumos RSR - Brumos RSR - 25th-Oct-22

I’m sorry to hear this news as it removes Savage GT from championship contention. I look forward to competing against the 512 on wood tracks.
