RE: Whats on your bench ... - Slot Trumps - 12th-Nov-21

This old dirty MAN, I saved it from the scrap heap and had to put a new rear axle in, bushes and crown gear, first time I've ever used Slot.It parts and I must say I'm impressed. I've used a 51mm axle but next time I think I'll try a 48mm as the wheels do stick out a few millimeters.

NSR makes an axle kit for the trucks that is amazing! I've used them on my trucks, some with a change in motor to a Baby Sprinter or Long Can 18K and that really transforms the truck!

It's easy enough to shorten an axle with a cutting disc and dremel.

On my bench, newly repainted Cox Cuccaracha, it just needs the wheels painted gold to turn it into a Clioracha

Nice job - as always Joel!!

I have a dark green cuc with screw holes on the sides I have been toying with to fill the holes and then repaint. Use any kind of special paint for the type of plastic?

You must sand the body to give the paint a key, in this case I used a Tamiya spray can (not impressed) only time will tell if the paint stays on.
The chassis was a bit dull, so I sprayed that too.

I have also been working on some saloon cars in preparation for Bordeaux.

The Camaro will be sold. There will be too many big US cars for them to do well in concours.
