More freestyling...all timings approximate!

It all starts at 0:00:00 with a story regarding a friend of a friend who ended up not being a friend of a friend.

@0:25:00 we see Mr F's "favourite 3DP thing in the world ever at the moment".

And then at 0:29:00 some slot car chat regarding the progress of 3D printed bodies, and the hole in the market that is screaming to be filled by a slot car body modeller who is a demon at 3D CAD modelling. I reckon there are enough people on the Chat who could could do that...form a co-operative, sort out the profit sharing etc...

And you read it here first, it's my idea, all proceeds to me, a new arm of slot car tuning, @0:40:00, 3D CAD modelling tyre truing, i.e. true it in the CAD file before it reaches the light of day.

0:58:00 101 ways of creating body posts

1:22:00 A quick update on the World Wide Slot Car Chat Car Restoration project

1:27:00 What happens when you take the magnets out of an NSR Mosler...you need to think about tyre truing of course! Best tyres to use, best technique to use, and why you need to "polish the black back"

And finally, at around 1:57:00, where to find the actual car from the Herbie movies/films.

Well it all started off very cryptically with a 'whodunnit' that had me confused, but basically, I think Dennis has been banned from his garage and had turned into a stroppy teenager in a hoodie and has gone up to his bedroom to sulk.

@00:09:00 we had a typical newbie tale of an interest in racing toy cars turning into a mild addiction...welcome to the club! If that addiction means you throw away all your CDs, @00:18:00 we are shown what you can do with all the empty CD shelves. One of those uses is a reminder never to sell any slot cars you buy, one day they will acquire collector status and be good enough to display. Ditto controllers, and depending how forward thinking you are, the best Christmas present ever from your childhood.

@00:26:00 there are details of a proxy race series involving very small cars combined with some clever 3D printed components. Everyone welcome!

[Slot Car Home Truths..."Slidin' is Slow"]

@00:41:00 why female slot car racers are faster that men; see SCHT above.

And then at 00:48:00 a much too short a discussion on how to paint figures...it's all about the eyes! All you need to know about colour and direction is there. And if painting figures is not your thing, have them around your circuit, but wearing sunglasses, a full face helmet, in a house with the curtains closed.

@1:03:00 we get onto the formal part of the agenda of this Slot Racers Anonymous meeting, where each member has to explain that moment when playing with toy cars became an embarrassment. And without wishing to give any names away, the moral of the story is, don't let Russell's brother race your best slot car.

If you are looking for that special Christmas gift for the slot car enthusiast who has everything, @1:12:00 Greg offers a service where he will come round to your house and lie under your track table and help make it a fully immersive experience.

And so, as the advent calendar of the slot car chat approaches no.24, and we all get out our 1:32 scale stockings (1:24 for Lloyd), @1:24:00 everyone has a go at dreaming about what we need to do to make it into a better race car simulation experience than stupid video race car games...

Jeremy, I think you and I would get along like best mates. :) I'm in for a pint, if I'm ever in your town. ;-)

And I'm going to take up all the offers of racing on the chat member's home tracks...but in the meantime, see you (on screen) Wednesday...no charity quiz this week!

I am under Covid Tier 2 restrictions at the moment, so you can come round, but only on Christmas Day. And no sleep over. And no drinking in a pub, unless it's with a 'substantial' meal.

I was so excited to be actually attending a Chat for the first time in ages, that I can't remember what we spoke about. However, there was the first appearance of a leading GT3 proxy racer from HRW!

Happy Christmas!
