I skipped entering class on purpose, I believe that Camaro will be tough to beat.

It may well be, Courtney Sport has been proven to enter superbly built and thought out cars.
I already know I'm not going to be near in class D, and that is before the width advantage the 917/10 will have over my entry.
There are other contestants using 917 variants also, so I know its going to be a tough field for my little my 512M to compete in, but I had the choice of going with the potential class leaders of 917 or Ford MKIV and GT40 and went the 512M way because I liked it and no one else had entered one

That had me scratching my head for a minute, Sideways only do a 17k and 21.5k motor .... but if its from a Sideways group 5 that makes sense, as its a re-wrapped Slot It 20.5k Flat 6 motor
I would take the overall tyre width as measurement personally - all tyres will need a rounding on the edge for consistent performance IMO.
Using a 13mm wide tyre and rounding it so the contact area is 12mm does not make it a 12mm tyre .... just my tuppence worth
I am enjoying all the pre race build up and introductions, as usual great work, many thanks to you for taking the time
Logically speaking, you are of course correct so I have accepted that I made an error of judgement and amended the Scrutineer report above for Class B cars, and we will use the conventional understanding for Tyre widths. So penalties may apply at the end of the series to the non compliant cars in the class (including my own)

Revised to include the Porsche 914/6 of Oaktree Racers
So in general I am pleased with the overall compliance, but we have 3 non conformance's on "Overall Tyre widths" (according to my revised criteria)
Therefor penalties could apply at the end depending on the series results and if these cars were seen to have gained an unfair advantage.
So it is time to run the last Class of cars "InterSeries"

This is a great intro to the proxy Graham, enjoying the shakedown. Apologies for the AMG being too low, as you say it was thrown together, I am still surprised though as I assumed as the tyres were roughly 19.2 - 19.3 mm in diameter I should have been about 1.7 ish ground clearance if the motor has 0 offset to the chassis, clearly I've got something wrong or the amg is slightly offset?

Those Pioneer motors are 21k, good motors they are too

Its fine with me as was, you are running the show and so your rules are what we adhere too, it was just my opinion not a protestation.
Given the time and care to organise these things, I am only too happy that you are doing this, as I thoroughly enjoy reading all the updates and preliminary reports
As an aside, how do you determine the ground clearance ? I purchased some small squares of 1, 1.5 and 2mm sheet metal to check on a set-up plate, and then discovered my metal thickness was not as advertised, so in the end it was a bit of guess-imation

OK folks,
I have test run all the Class D cars, and a couple were problematic intermittent runners, so I have to spend some time understanding what their problems were and then fixing them.
Some of them were top contenders, and there looks like we may have some unexpected surprises
However my phone needs charging before I can do the photo shoot, so I will need to wait a little longer.

I did take out my Standard Scalex AMG to check it against, as I thought it might be a characteristic of the newer models, but I can get a 1.5mm gauge under that one. I will do another check on Sunday when I run it in case I made a mistake.

The problem with rules is that you can often find different ways to interpret them, but as I said I think that normally when I been entering National Competitions, it would be the "wall thickness" which would be the law, I have heard before folks protesting to the scrutineers using the argument about track contact area, but the organisers remaining unmoved by the protestations
So I probably should know better.
But more importantly especially with the classic Class cars the tyre width performance is probably a lot more critical due to car stability than with the other Classes where other characteristics of performance like overall car width or motor choice might be the dominating performance effect.
I am using a Scaleauto gauge to measure track clearance, it is not perfect if I check it with my digital caliper, as I have found that the increments on it can be plus or minus 0.02 mm out, depending on which step you are using.
