Bio:
Long time motorhead. Currently have a restored 1973 MGB that keeps me busy. Recently completed a routed MDF slot car track of Watkins Glen using original engineering blueprints when the track was modified to include "the boot" for the US Grand Prix. All turn radius and elevations are actual from the blueprints and scaled down to fit my basement real estate. I race with the Mid Atlantic Slot Car Series Club (MASC).

| My name is Bob Edwards, and I am from Virginia, USA. Over the past few years, I have been following Graham’s Proxies. Although I narrowly missed the deadline for the Targa Florio event, I was happy to see the announcement for this Proxy and decided to participate. One of the aspects I like about Graham’s Proxies is the variety of interesting cars available to participants. This diversity aligns with my interest in Motorsports, especially from the 1950s and 1960s. When I learned that the MG-6 would be featured as one of the cars for this Proxy, I decided to participate. As owner of a 1973 MGB, which I restored in the early 1990s, and a member of the local MG Car Club where I once organized a slot car event that showcased my MG slot cars and other classic British two-seaters. For that occasion, I acquired a Scalextric MG-6 and made it available for fellow Club members to run on my home track. While the MG-6 serves as a modern representation of the brand, it does not possess the same heritage as the classic models produced at Abingdon. This Proxy event has presented me with the opportunity to take the stock MG-6, previously only run during the Club event, and prepare it for the proxy. The process of tuning and optimizing the stock Scalextric car for this event has been both challenging and rewarding. I would like to extend my best wishes to all participants in the event. Shown below is a photograph of my entry for Event 2, Class “B.” I plan to ship my entry on Monday, March 9, 2026. Bob [attachment=46445] |
