Just today one of the Scorpius beta testers was offered some brand new unused Scorpius kit that a guy bought back in July 2011, release year. He asked me was it compatible. I said of course.
After 13 years all the kit is still 100% compatible and can be raced beside Gen 2 chips released in 2022 and the upcoming MPD good to 2035.
We propose the MPD will be around for a decade. Future proofed like Gen 1, a proven car decoder with close to zero glitches, the idea is to simply make sure any required hardware is in place now.
So will current Scorpius users can rest assured their (up to) 14 year old investment is still useable.
The key protocols are identical and will be until 2035.
That’s 24 years of continuous protocols and backward compatibility if we can pull it off again. Fingers crossed.
