Now every MPD will come with an anti spiking device I will call the Scorpius Back EMF PCB.
Motors produce electrical spikes which can flow back into the decoder causing it to misbehave.
Team Scorpius made a 3 capacitor configuration solution a few years back and this is simply a more professional product to install. And looks better too.
The board comes as standard on all MPDs and simply snaps off before being soldered into place.

I've tried the 3 cap method in the past on other systems to good effect 

But the above is way neater
